"Ar Sarum Dec 1st 1777 by the Revd John Chafy Ck M:A: lawful surrogate of the Revd &Worshipful Wm Whitworth Ck M:A: Archdeacon of the Archdry. of Sarum Adcom. of the Good etc of the said Richd Waterman Watts Pope was granted to Sarah Pope his lawful Mother; having first made solemn affirmation (being a Quaker) that the said Decd died Intestate that she would duly administer and exhibit an Invry. & acct. when thereto lawfully required"
